Donaldson uploaded videos to YouTube when he was 13, and he used the handle "MrBeast6000". The channel began with Let's Plays, as well as "videos estimating how wealthy other YouTubers were" content. The YouTuber became a viral hit in 2017 with his "Counting to 100,000" video, which was able to receive thousands of hits in two days.
